1. This book is for Standard one pupils or adult Swahili beginners. 2. It include Swahili Syllables which constitutes the fabric of Swahili Reading and Writing. 3. It is very useful because it is prepared starting with the simplest one syllable words to the hardest - made of four syllables. LEARNING OBJECTIVE i. Learners will be able to read syllables like ba, be, bi, bo, bu. ii.Learners will be able to create and write meaningful words like baba, bibi and babu from syllables like ba, be, bi, bo, bu. iii. Adults will be able to read and write Swahili under minimum supervision. iv. The book was tested with slow learners who failed to read and write while as far as in class 3 and it worked excellently. This is because it is set to awaken the learner's sleeping genius. v. It is set to reflect Tanzania syllabus for Swahili beginners. vi. How it can be used: After mastering syllables the learner is inspired to try various possibilities for creating his or her own meaningful words.
